The museum exhibits in a very interesting, exhaustive and enjoyable way the long history of wine, from the most ancient inhabitants of the Italian peninsula up to modern times.
Precious archaeological artefacts, such as Etruscan, Attic and Roman amphorae and vases, equipment, carts and tools are on display. The exhibits clearly present the techniques employed in growing grapes and making wine and their evolution over the centuries.
Moreover, the collection bears the name Martini, which in the alcoholic drink sector is not just any name. At Pessione it is possible to visit the old cellar where Martini got its start.
