The boat race on the lagoon held at Orbetello, which dates back to the time of the wedding between the Archduchess of Austria and the King of Naples and the Two Sicilies in 1768, is repeated every year on the last Sunday in July. The five districts of Orbetello - Duomo, Porto, Stazione, Piazza d’Armi and Neghelli – challenge each other with their oars on the waters of the suggestive lagoon which takes its name from this town sitting on the central isthmus.
