The Saint Vincent Spa

The Saint Vincent Spa
What do cows have to do with the spa? It seems that the discovery of the therapeutic properties of the Saint Vincent Spring in 1770 by the abbot Perret came about thanks to the cows who kept going back to drink the cold waters that faintly coloured the stones and vegetation red. After verifying the characteristics of the precious liquid, Perret bought the land with the spring, which seemed to be particularly indicated for the treatment of problems with the gastroenteric apparatus.Since then, the Valdostana town, which has one of its main streets named after the discoverer of the underground treasure, has developed into an aristocratic tourist centre that also is known for its famous Casinň of the Vallče.
