Difference is elevation: about 350 m; time: about 1 hour 15 min.; difficulty: easy day-trip. The Apuan area of Monte Forato, Monte Nona and Monte Procinto offers a great variety of hikes for all tastes. The particular whiteness of the rocks, together with the nearness to the sea, make the panorama especially suggestive. In addition, the amount of shaded trails favours excursions for families with children. However, also more expert or daring hikers will find something for them, too. From Stazzema (439 m above sea level), going downhill toward Seravezza, you turn left at the first curve outside of the village. After about 2 km, immediately after a sawmill, turn right and park. From here, various paths of varying difficulty begin. Follow the indications for path 6 and then path 5. In about 1 hour you will reach the Forte dei Marmi hut (868 m above sea level).
