The ‘Il Temperino’ holiday house is unique. It is located within the San Silvestro Archaeological Mining park at the foot of Campiglia Marittima, one of the most charming Medieval villages in the Upper Maremma area, where Etruscans and ancient Romans competed in extraction and metallurgical activities.
Il Temperino is the old miners’ residence where they rested after long, hard days spent in the mines. Today, it is a meticulously refurbished residence where time stands still and simplicity reigns supreme: stone, iron, wood and terracotta fuse together in a special mix perfected by the past.
Il Temperino is neither a hotel nor an agritourism farm, but rather a "home for your holiday". The four rooms with en-suite bathroom, large sitting room, common kitchen and porch overlooking the Mediterranean maquis are the right answer to your desire for an original holiday.

From our holiday house you can reach important places of touristic interest: Campiglia Marittima is only 5 km away from San Vincenzo and Parco di Ripiglianowith their sandy beaches and pine wood; we are very near sites of historical interest such as the Etruscan Necropolis at Baratti, the villages of Suvereto, Castagneto Carducci, and Bolgheri (WWF oasis); the Caldana spa is only 4 km away where there is a swimming pool and pond with 37 °C water; artistic cities like Florence, Lucca, Volterra, San Gimignano, Siena, and Massa Marittima are within easy reach.
The house is within the boundaries of the Archaeological Mining park where you can visit, by shuttle bus, the old mines and the Fortress of San Silvestro and it makes an ideal point of departure for excursions by foot or mountain bike.
